Krishna Caitanya

Sri Krishna Caitanya (1486–1534)
Lord Sri Krishna Caitanya came to earth in 1486 to go preaching Sankirtana or congregational chanting of the holy names. He was Krishna in a secret form, having all of his dear and principle associates with him, as in times past, during his previous incarnations. His brother Balaram appreared with him as Nityananda. Caitanya went forth in the streets chanting the names of Krishna. He came as a devotee to show humanity the way to true salvation.

He claimed that the recitation of the holy name was the only way to salvation and that even an evil man could be elevated from the state of wickedness to righteousness by the simple chanting (or singing) of The Great Mantra. Thus one needn't concern himself with what is right or what is wrong, rather the glorifying of The One True God. This was why Caitanya came to the world. Many of the so called spiritual masters of his day condemned Caitanya for giving The Mantra to sinners and people who were not deemed fit for devotion. This did not deter the lord, for he knew that God was merciful and that he would have mercy on whom He would; and that none could stop his grace from going forth. Caitanya went into the spiritual masters and asked them for the mantra. They forbade him sharing it with any other, assuring that death would come for him if he did. This still did not stop him from sharing His Name with the world. The Lord went about announcing his judgment upon the sons of Manu, giving His Salvation to all who would bow to Krishna and worship The One True God.

This gift of salvation lives on today, simply by the utterance of The Name Of Lord Krishna, who is The Supreme Personality Godhead. Those who chant the names of Krishna and seek to know Him by various texts, may find him. He may be found in The Mahabharata, Srimad Bhagavatham and Bhagavad Gita. However, the best way to know Him is to surrender to him and sing his most holy names. This brings the fullness of Joy and Instant Knowledge as only He can give. Them who wish to know The Father and be his sincere devoted servants need only sing like this:

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Ramah Hare Ramah
Ramah Ramah Hare Hare
